MONEY
1. Inmates may receive funds through the mail only in the form of a Postal money order, Bank money order, Cashier's check, or Certified check. Any other types of funds received other than these will be returned to sender.
2. No letters, pictures, or other personal items are to be included in the envelope in which funds are sent. If items other than funds are included, the entire envelope contents, including funds, will be returned to sender.
3. Checks and Money Orders must be made payable to the MDOC ONLY. Inmate Name and Number should be listed at the bottom of the Check or Money Order in the Memo or Reference section. NOT in the pay to the order of space.
4. The envelope should be addressed to inmate. In addition to inmate name and number, the envelope should also be addressed to MDOC/P.O. Box 544/Jackson, MS 39205-0544.
5. All funds mailed to inmates located at MSP (Mississippi State Penitentiary) also know as Parchman, CMCP (Central Mississippi Correctional Institution) must be sent to the above address. Any funds received at any address other than the above will be returned to sender.
6. All envelopes must have complete Inmate address and complete return address.

NO Postage Stamps
NO Pencils & Pens
NO Blank Stationary (paper & envelopes)
NO Blank Greeting Cars & Envelopes & Postcards
NO Hardbacked Books of any Kind
Mail sent in Security, Handmade or Padded Envelopes is NOT allowed.
These items ARE allowed with some Limitations
No more than 6 Newspaper Clippings in a letter (Sections of newspaper are NOT allowed).
No more than 2 Pages copied from Internet will be allowed at Any one time.
Multiple copies of the SAME photo are not allowed.
Polaroids are not allowed.
Photos that are Related to Security Threat Groups are not allowed.
Photos that expose any PRIVATE parts are NOT allowed. Subjects in swimwear are not allowed unless it is related to swimming. Subjects in Lingerie shall not be allowed. Suggestive Poses may be sufficent cause for rejection, regardless of the type clothing worn.
Magazines or Newspapers ARE allowed but they MUST come directly from the publisher or distributor.
Paper or Soft-Backed books are allowed. There is a limit of 3 in a single posting. These also MUST come directly from the publisher or distributor. Internet Services like Amazon.com are considered distributors and are included along with book stores. The books CAN be new or used.
You ARE allowed to use return address labels on envelopes.
